Winter Anime 2015/2016

Winter anime season is going to start soon! I’ve marked several titles that I’d follow when it gets released. I’m not really sure I can watch it directly, though, since I’m going to have my schedules packed with exams and try outs. Well anyway, here goes the list!

Nijiiro Days

Rainbow Days by Mizuo Minami

I’ve caught up with the manga pretty recently and I have to tell you that this one gives me squeals! The four main protagonists are all so interesting. One of them even has an eccentric character (read: S&M). Not to forget the tsundere girl and innocent type, since they’re the ones who make this manga full of sparks! 😉

Durarara!!x2 Ketsu

The third and final cour of Durarara!!’s second season.

I’ve longed for the continuation since I watched season one. It took several years for the second season to appear so I was really delighted to hear the news that it would be made a year ago. So the third cour would probably cover several parts of the light novel after the main protagonist, Ryugamine Mikado, makes his move to purge his colorless gang. Can’t contain the hype!

Akagami no Shirayukihime S2

Yay for the second season!

Yes! The red haired snow white is going to have it’s second season pretty soon! Those two are so innocent (squeal)! I’ve mentioned this anime’s first season in Summer Anime’s list so I won’t go further with the explanation. The second will probably have around 12-13 episodes like the first one. I hope we get to see Zen and Shirayuki’s relationship deepen in this season.

Those are the three anime that I’ll definitely watch. Depending on the outcome I might also decide to pick up:

  • Ansatsu Kyoushitsu S2
  • Boku Dake ga Inai Machi

Haikyuu 2nd season will still be airing till January, I guess. So I shall keep an eye on their updates, too!

Oh, and have a nice new year’s eve!

Midterm break

I wouldn’t actually call it a ‘break’, seeing as we students still have shitloads of work to do that were given by teachers.

I’m also still thinking about the inevitable red mark on my midterm report.

Nevertheless, having three days off (excluding Saturday and Sunday) is till something that I really have to appreciate, since school rarely gave us holidays. I mean, getting a room to breathe was already hard as it is, let alone holidays.

So I planned to make use of that holiday to it’s fullest extent (read: procrastinating). I’ve just finished reading Paper Towns yesterday. It took me around six hours to finish it. I think it’s an interesting book, though it has several loose ends. Then I caught up with Rokka no Yuusha‘s novel right after I finished watching the anime. I’m also planning to read Hyouka‘s novel, but I don’t know whether I’ll be able to finish that in my remaining break time.

As for the fall season of anime, there are three titles that I will absolutely be following! These three are sequels to their respective first seasons that I have been waiting for a long time! They’re finally here! 😀

Well, anime and books aside, I’m currently trying to brainstorm for slogan ideas about multiculturalism for my homework. I do hope I’ll get a nice tag line for it! Time to sketch for designs!

Highlights: Shokugeki no Soma

Ongoing Spring 2015 Anime, Shokugeki no Soma!
Ongoing Spring 2015 Anime, Shokugeki no Soma!

Shokugeki no Soma is a manga written by Tsukuda Yuuto and drawn by Saeki Shun. It was originally released as a one shot, but then got very popular, so it turned into a manga series in the end. About 130 chapters has been released for this ‘food wars’ manga. The anime adaptation was then released during Spring 2015 and it totally increased the popularity of the ongoing manga right now.

While SNS is not your typical shonen (it also has ecchi in it) anime and manga, it still appeals to all kinds of watchers and readers. J.C. Staff really made a good animation with this one. I totally love the art and characters that they brought!

Moreover, what most people look forward into this manga is … food!
SNS introduces you to wide varieties of creative and delicious food that Soma, the main protagonist, made. They were all made with normal graded ingredients when most of the other students in the anime used the high quality and expensive ones. The food that were represented in the anime also has it’s original real version!

I totally fell in love with the food! They all looked really delicious and it always makes me hungry! Cooking fans should really watch this anime (especially those who love food!). It has intense situations that is actually connected to real life, and badass characters who make heavenly foods like it was nothing! I’m really excited to see where will the anime end, perhaps the end of the Autumn Preliminaries? I don’t want to spoil the fun by reading the manga, so I guess I’ll just wait until the anime ends!

Summer Anime 2015

This season’s anime has gone halfway through! Though there may not be many that I found interesting, I still have several titles that always made me excited! There were also several that I dropped halfway because I just didn’t feel like continuing it … But let’s just focus on the ones I really love!

Aoharu x Kikanjuu

First off is Aoharu x Kikanjuu! The official english title on Wiki is Aoharu x Machinegun. This is absolutely my favourite series of this season. The story revolves around Tachibana Hotaru, who is a bonafide girl but was always mistaken as a man by others. She’s a character with a great sense of justice. Hotaru was then forced to join a survival game team, Toy Gun Gun, by Matsuoka Masamune (who didn’t know that Hotaru was a girl) after she accidentally destroyed his work place at the host club. There, she met Yukimura Tooru, Masamune’s childhood friend, who was a sniper in the team (and also an S&M manga artist).

The plot then moves pretty quick, and some of the boys’ past were revealed. It then triggered Tachibana’s will to keep staying in the team for the sake of helping Masamune take his revenge on a certain person, even though girls were actually not allowed.

It has a total of twelve episodes and it has reached episode 7 so far. I can’t wait to see the ending!

Akagami no Shirayukihime

Next is a round of romance! Akagami no Shirayukihime was originally a manga created by Akizuki Sorata. I read her manga a long time ago, but it has a slow update speed so I kinda dropped it after some time. When I heard that the anime was gonna air this summer, I immediately added this to my “Absolutely watch” list!

This anime has a nice clean art and pure romance. I love how the characters were depicted in the anime, and of course the prince is not the only thing that keeps me watching! I also love the side characters because they all had their interesting sides, especially Ryu, Shirayuki’s mentor.

Well, this anime basically has bijin inside it. A charming white haired prince, a brave red haired ‘princess’, cool bodyguards, and somehow a shyboy! Though I doubt it will catch up to the manga, I’ll still continue watching this anime to the very end.

Himouto! Umaru-chan

himouto
Chibi Umaru and her friends

This is the only anime which has no particular genre other than comedy and slice of life. But it’s really soothing and pleasant to watch! The main character is Doma Umaru, a beautiful, cute, and good-at-everything high school girl. She, however, switches into her otaku mode once she gets home and lazes all around her room. She tries to keep her secret of having an otaku life from her friends. The only one who knows Umaru’s double personality is Taihei, his older brother.

Even though this show is not as funny as Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, it’s still one of my favourites! (I really love Umaru’s cutesy o w o)

And that ends my top three favourites! I didn’t include Durarara this time because this second cour isn’t as exciting as I expected to be. Maybe I’ll continue watching it when the third cour comes out next year!

Alright, and a new list of anime that I’ll probably watch when fall comes:

Until then!
